ATV hit and run

The driver to an ATV will have some explaining to do to Perth County OPP after leaving the scene of a collision with a mini-van near the Village of Monkton.

Constable Glen Childerley Perth County OPP responded to a call of a collision between a Mini-van and an ATV on Perth Line 55 just east of Monkton on September 26 at 11:15 p.m.

Childerley says the Mini-van was travelling west and slowing down as the driver approached Monkton. As the driver approached, he observed an ATV in his lane coming towards him, he veered to the right to avoid a collision, but the vehicles collided.

The driver of the van stopped his vehicle and got out to see if the ATV driver was ok, and the driver could not be found.

Police used their K 9 unit to locate the driver. The K 9 unit tracked from the scene to a house in Monkton.

Police continue to investigate the incident. No injuries were reported but the damage to both vehicles was substantial.
