New stamp featuring the Point Clark Lighthouse
Above shows a “larger version” of the stamp, one of a set of six, featuring Canadian lighthouses. Below, Huron-Kinloss Mayor Mitch Twolan holds a small piece of history, a commemorative set of the six featured stamps and other future memorabilia to mark the occasion.
Above gives an indication of how the lighthouse keeper’s house looks like with more than 50 people inside. Although colder, those in attendance had more room and better lighting to view the stamp, which will go on sale to the public on December 27, 2007. Canada Post estimates that about 40,000,000 of the stamps will go into circulation.
