Lighthouse to be honoured on stamp Council for Huron-Kinloss heard at its November 5 meeting in Ripley that the Point Clark Lighthouse will be featured on a stamp. The Point Clark light is one of five lighthouses, which will be featured on a new set of stamps, which will be issued on December 27, 2007. Council heard that Canada Post would like to present an enlargement of the stamp to the Township for display at the lighthouse museum on Thursday December 13, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Point Clark Lighthouse. The ceremony would consist of a Canada Post representative saying a few words, and Canada Post representative and perhaps Mayor Twolan pulling back a cloth to unveil an enlargement of the stamp. There would then be a presentation of another piece featuring the stamp to the municipality for display |
