Kincardine mayor denies high-level nuclear waste in the works

At the latest meeting of Kincardine council, an issue of concern raised by councilor Marsha Legett at a previous meeting regarding lack of communication and the way in which mayor Larry Kraemer performs his duties as mayor was addressed.

In her letter to council, Legett stated that she feared the mayor was considering the possibility of entering into an agreement with the Canadian Association of Nuclear Host Committees to store high level nuclear waste here in Bruce County. Mayor Larry Kraemer says he never indicated that intention.

As for communicating with council and carrying out his duties, Kraemer answers to that as well.

Kraemer says, even though he feels policy is being adhered to and he is carrying out his duties as mayor properly, he is willing to review the policy with council.
