Huron County Double Homicide Update (Aug 7, 2007)

Imeson to be formally charged for the murders of an elderly couple in Goderich Provincial Court this week.

The OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (C.I.B.) and the Windsor Police Service, continue a joint investigation into the murder of Carlos Rivera of LaSalle, Ontario and the murders of Helene and William Regier of Stephen Twp, Huron County, Ontario.

Rivera's body was discovered on July 19, 2007, at the apartment of Jesse Imeson.

The bodies of Helene and William Regier were discovered on July 23, 2007, in their residence on Bronson Line in Stephen Twp, Huron County, Ontario.

Jesse Norman Imeson, 22, is to appear in Goderich Provincial Court on Friday August 10, 2007 at 10:00 a.m.

Imeson will be formally charged with two 1st degree murder charges in relation to the Huron County deaths.

Last week, Imeson was remanded to August 27th, 2007 on the Windsor 1st degree murder charge.

Rivera's body was discovered on July 19, 2007, at the apartment of Jessie Imeson. The bodies of Helene and William Regier were discovered on July 23, 2007, in their residence on Bronson Line, Dashwood, Ontario.

 It has been determined that the 2006 GMC pickup truck taken from the Regier family farm was abandoned in dense bush in the White Water Region near Renfrew Ontario before the OPP was originally summoned to the Regier Farm in South Western Ontario, 1:30 pm. Monday July 23, 2007.

 Anyone with information in regard to Imeson or the 2006 GMC Sierra pick-up truck are asked to call a toll free line at 1-877-584-8477 or Crime Stoppers at 1 800 222-TIPS which anyone can call free of charge to report any information they may have pertaining to either investigation.

 At approximately 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday July 31, 2007 OPP Emergency Response Team members and Surete du Quebec officers arrested Imeson without incident. At the time of his arrest Imeson was located in Portage du Fort, Quebec.

 The OPP would like to thank the community and the media for their continued support during the investigation and as the police support the victim's of this tragic trail of events. Your assistance is necessary, appreciated and was crucial in the apprehension of Jesse Imeson.

Imeson in custody

The Ontario Provincial Police Criminal Investigation Branch, the Windsor Police Service and Renfrew O.P.P. can confirm that Jesse Norman Imeson was arrested on a Canadian Wide Arrest Warrant for the murders of Carlos Rivera of Lasalle, Ontario and Helene and William Regier of Dashwood, Ontario.

At approximately 8:50 p.m. on July 31, 2007, OPP Emergency Respond Unit members and Quebec police arrested Imeson without incident. At the time of his arrest, Imeson was located in Portage du Fort, Quebec. Imeson is being detained in Quebec and will be transported to Ontario.

The Windsor Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police would like to thank the public, the media and the Surete du Quebec for their assistance.

Victim’s vehicle 2006 GMC Sierra located in Huron County homicide investigation

At approximately 7:00 p.m. on July 30, 2007, The Regier’s stolen 2006 GMC Sierra pickup truck, silver in colour bearing Ontario licence number JK8 334, was located by the Renfrew OPP. The vehicle was located by a citizen in a heavily wooded area off of Kerr Line, White Water Region, in the area of Renfrew

The vehicle has been seized and is being held and awaiting examination by the Forensic OPP Unit.  Members of the Renfrew OPP, East Region Emergency Response Team, East Region K-9 and OPP air units will be conducting an extensive and thorough search of the area.

The OPP and Windsor Police Service have issued a Canada wide Arrest Warrant for 22-year-old Jesse Norman Imeson . He is described as 6’ 1” tall, 200 pounds, short shaved brown hair and brown eyes.  He has very distinct tattoos on his forearms.  Citizens are reminded not to try to apprehend Imeson as he is armed and dangerous.  

The OPP are reminding area citizens of the importance of being vigilant of safety concerns by locking home doors, not allowing strangers into your home and ensuring residences are well lit.

Neighbours are encouraged to be observant of suspicious activity and report it to police immediately .

Glenn Stannard, Chief of police for the Windsor Police Service echoed that warning to media. “Imerson is wanted in relation to both investigations and should be considered armed and dangerous. If you see Imerson, do not approach him, call 911 immediately.”

Stannard says that on July 18, 2007, just prior to midnight, Carlos Rivera, of Normandy Road, LaSalle, was reported missing to the LaSalle Police Service by a concerned friend.

Rivera was last seen earlier that morning in the City of Windsor in the 1600 block of Benjamin Avenue around 6:00 a.m. He had left a residence in his vehicle driven by another man, Jesse Norman Imeson, back to his residence in LaSalle. The vehicle with both men has not been seen since.

“Rivera was scheduled to work as a bartender at Taps Bar in Windsor for his shift at 8:30 p.m. but failed to show up,” he says. “This was out of character for Rivera.”

The following day July 19, 2007, a body matching his description was found at 365 Erie Street West, which was the residence of Jesse Imeson.

Rivera’s 1996 Honda was stolen and recovered on Friday, July 20 in the Grand Bend area of Ontario.

On Monday, July 23, police responded to a believed break-in in Stephen Township, not far from the recovered Honda Civic.

Police found 72-year-old Bill Regier and his 73-year-old wife Helene dead, the apparent victims of a homicide. Missing was the couples GMC Sierra Truck Ontario Licence # JK8334.

IMESON, Jesse Norman (DOB: April 30th, 1985)

Police say Imeson is 22-years-old, 6’01” (1.85 m) in height, weighing 201 pounds (91 kg) with very short, almost shaved brown hair, brown eyes and numerous tattoos on his arms and an oriental symbol on his neck.

Green Taurus not connected to Imeson case (UPDATE JULY 30, 2007)

Huron OPP and Windsor Police Service release more news and photos and are requesting the assistance of the public in tracking down 2006 GMC Sierra Z 71, thought to have been stolen by Jesse Norman Imeson, wanted on a Canada-wide murder warrant.

Constable Jeff Walraven of the Huron OPP says that a forensic examination has been completed on the green Ford Taurus, bearing Ontario licence AXSR 755 and that police are satisfied that the Taurus, stolen during a break and enter July 22, 2007, is not linked to the homicides.

Walraven says, “the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (C.I.B.) and the Windsor Police Service, continue a joint investigation into the murder of Carlos Rivera of LaSalle, Ontario and the murders of Helene and William Regier of Dashwood, Ontario.”

Police are asking for public assistance in locating a 2006 GMC Sierra Z 71, 4 Door, pickup truck, silver in colour, bearing Ontario licence number JK8 334. This truck was stolen from the Regier residence.

Walraven says in particular, building superintendents, parking lot attendants and commuters are asked to observe for this vehicle in the event it has been abandoned.

Manhunt for multiple murder suspect continues in Huron County (UPDATE July 27, 2007)

Huron OPP are tightening the noose further on 22-year-old Jesse Norman Imerson with help from the public, announcing a 24-hour “Homicide Tips Line,” following the release of the post mortem results on the elderly couple who police now confirm died of gunshot wounds.

Constable Jeff Walraven says the dedicated TIPS line was established to assist in the homicide investigation of Carlos Rivera murdered in Windsor on or about July 18, 2007 as well as the homicides of Huron County residents Helene and Bill Regier, both in their 70’s, on or about July 23, 2007..

OPP and the Windsor Police Service have established the toll free “Tips and Information Line” at 1-877-584-8477, which anyone can call free of charge to report any information they may have pertaining to either investigation.

Police have issued a Canada Wide Arrest Warrant for Imerson, who is described as being 6'1", 200 pounds, with brown shaved hair andbrown eyes. He has very distinctive tattoos on both forearms. The tattoo on his left forearm extends down to his hand and onto his second finger.

Imerson is to be considered armed and dangerous.

OPP are also looking for the 2006 GMC Sierra pickup truck, silver in colour bearing Ontario license number JK8 334, stolen from the Regier's residence.

Anyone with information on the location of Imerson or the 2006 GMC Sierra pick-up truck are asked to call 911, or their local police agency immediately.

No one should attempt to apprehend Imerson or approach the vehicle if observed.

The toll free phone tips line will be staffed full-time until further notice.

Post Mortem results released

 Walraven says that Huron County OPP, under the direction of Inspector Dave Cardwell of Criminal Investigation Branch, continue to follow leads into the recent double murder of the Regier's, in their Bronson Line home.

 Forensic pathologists conducted the post mortem at the London Health Sciences on July 25, 2007 on the Regiers.

 The post mortem examination determined that both Helene Regier, 73 and her husband William, 72, died as the result of gunshot wounds sometime between Sunday (night), July 22, 2007 and the time of the call, Monday, July 23 2007 at 1:20 p.m.

Huron County OPP locate green Ford Taurus, TV show "America's Most Wanted" lends a hand (UPDATE July 26, 2007)

Constable Jeff Walraven of the Huron OPP says one of the two vehicles sought by police has been located at approximately 5:30 p.m. on July 25.

Huron County OPP under the direction of C.I.B. Inspector Dave Cardwell continue to follow leads into the double homicide on Bronson Line in Huron County on July 23.

The green Ford Taurus bearing Ontario license AXSR 755 was located by an OPP plane in a dense bush located on Rodger Ville Road, south of the Village of Zurich in Hay Township.

 No one was located in or around the vehicle. Members of the Huron OPP, Western Region Emergency Response Team and K-9 Units are conducting a ground search of the immediate area to look for more clues.

 At this point, it is still unclear if the Taurus was related to this incident, however the Forensic Identification Unit is holding it for expert examination.

 Huron County OPP are still seeking to locate the 2006, GMC Sierra pickup truck, grey in colour bearing Ontario license number JK8 334.

 No attempt to stop the vehicle should be made by any member of the public. If located call 911, or 1-888-310-1122 or your local police agency immediately.

 The OPP have issued a Canada wide Arrest Warrant for 22-year-old Jesse Norman Imeson and police would like him to turn himself in without incident.

He is described as 6' 1" tall, 200 pounds, short shaved brown hair and brown eyes. He has very distinct tattoos on his forearms.

Citizens are reminded not to try to apprehend Imeson as he is armed and dangerous.

Police remind area residents to ensure that homes and vehicles are locked and to report any suspicious activity or persons of concern to police immediately.
