Lucknow welcomes Community Living

Lucknow can now boast something new and beneficial to the area, it is now the site of a new Community Living residence.

Joanne Davis, Executive Director says South Huron, along with Wingham’s Community Living both worked hard to make it all happen.

Monies needed were funded by the Ministry of Community and Social Services, with the remainder of the $370,000 being raised by the South Huron Community Living group.

The Wingham and District branch will provide staffing.

Two people are already benefiting from the project in Lucknow, one person has already moved into the residence, with another living in an adjacent apartment.

Organizers say the project is designed to bring people back into their communities and keep them comfortable with their surroundings.

Community Living is a global organization, specifically designed to help people with developmental challenges in their own community with six residences in Huron and Bruce Counties.
