The H-K Observer moving to a new home

By Darrell Ziegler

Be ready to change your bookmarks, the Observer has a new home.

To serve our readers better, the H-K Observer will be found at a new and simple address, “hkobserver.com”.

The site will have room for larger photographs, more archived news stories and some new surprises for all.

Unlike other forms of media, the price to read the news will not go up. The H-K Observer will remain free to all readers. Just to prove that you don’t always pay more for less, there will be some added features as well.

We are looking into starting a bulletin board, where readers can communicate with each other for free. Looking for a place to rent? Ask on our board. Looking for information on a specific topic? Ask away. New to the area and need help with something, feel free to see what others can do to help.

We are also asking that church groups and service clubs submit any events or notices that may be of interest to the community and hoping that Pastors or church leaders will consider from time to time, submitting articles or columns. We’d love to hear what you have to say and share it with our readers. Remember, there are those who do not live in the area full-time that would enjoy hearing from you, snowbirds too.

We will be updating our Community Events page so that we can continue to have the best list of “what’s happening” in the area available anywhere. We pride ourselves at being able to help residents and visitors alike when it comes to planning their weekends and knowing what events are being held.

If you have an event planned, be sure to call or e-mail us, so your event can be listed.

The upcoming year will see articles written by experts in history and the environment, as well as some good old local input by residents and members of the community.

Beach associations, women’s institutes, Legions and other groups are more than welcome to send in their news too.

We believe that a community newspaper, be it on-line or in print form, should be focused on the community.

Your input is important, necessary and welcome.
