Boiler Beach posted as unsafe for bathing |
||
The Grey Bruce Health Unit says that recent water samples tested at Boiler Beach, at Concession 12, have shown elevated counts of bacteria. A recent press release states that, “Beach water sampling at Boiler Beach on Lake Huron at Concession 12 (Huron-Kinloss) shows two consecutive samples exceeding Ministry of Health and long-term Care standards for acceptable bacterial levels.” As a result, this area will be posted and remain posted, until two consecutive samples indicate that water is safe for bathing. The Medical Officer of Health advises bathers that high levels of bacteria in this water may pose a risk to their health. Advisory signs have been posted. For more information please call 519-376-9420 or 1-800-263-3456 or visit www.publichealthgreybruce.on.ca. It is not known yet when the next tests will take place. The Observer will be updated as information becomes available through the week. |
